Nationwide is upgrading their administration platform to provide an enhanced customer experience as well as additional administrative capabilities. Platform enhancements include:
- New, user friendly employer portal with expanded features and functionality
- New and improved billing formats
- Paperless billing option
- Direct deposit option for life, supplemental accident and supplemental hospital claims
- Employee portal for accessing dental claim status and ID cards
What is the timing of the change in administration platforms?
Inforce employee benefit policies will transition starting January 1, 2017. Approximately 30 days in advance of the transition date, a letter will be mailed to the policyholder communicating the change in administration platforms.
Will the policy or account numbers change?
Group account numbers for billing and customer service purposes will be changing and will be provided in the initial policyholder communication. However, policy numbers will not be changing which means that new policies and certificates will not be reissued as part of the administrative transition.
For Dental policyholders, because the group account numbers are changing, new dental ID cards will be issued approximately 2 weeks prior to the January 1, 2017 transition date. The policyholder will be notified about the re-issuance of dental ID cards in the initial policyholder communication. All dental ID cards will be mailed to the employee address on file with Nationwide.
